GST-tagged recombinant fragment corresponding to the first 186 amino acids of human BAK.

~24 kDa observed; 23.41 kDa calculated. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysate(s).

Induces Function Analysis: A representative lot induced conformational change and oligomerization of BAK and caused cytochrome c release. (Iyer, S., et. al. (2016). Nat Commun. 7:11734).

Immunoprecipitation Analysis: A representative lot immunoprecipitated BAK in Immunoprecipitation applications (Iyer, S., et. al. (2016). Nat Commun. 7:11734).

Clone 7D10 is a rat monoclonal antibody that detects BAK protein in human and murine species. It binds close to alpha1 region in non-activated BAK.

Purified rat monoclonal antibody IgG2a in PBS without azide.

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.

Evaluated by Western Blotting in wild type and Bax/Bak double knockout HeLa cell lysates.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:500 dilution of this antibody detected BAK in Wild type HeLa cell lysate, but not in Bax/Bak double knockout HeLa cell lysate.
