General description
Megakaryocyte/erythroid progenitors (MEPs) are bipotent cells that undergo a fate decision to become either megakaryocytes (Mk) or erythroid (E) cells. Proliferation and differentiation of MEP is shown to be regulated by the presence of thrombopoietin. Clone BAH-1 recognizes c-Mpl, the thrombopoietin receptor with high affinity (Kd = 0.61 nM) and exhibits agonistic activity in stimulating megakaryocytopoiesis and production of mature GpIIb/IIIa-expressing megakaryocytes. However, it does not recognize glycoproteins Ib or IIb/IIIa. This clone is useful in distinguishing subsets of hematopoietic stem cells and myeloid progenitors. (Ref.: Sanada, C., et al. (2016). Preparation Note
Store at -10°C to -25°C. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
