General description
Urifil concentrator is a disposable filtration device for concentration of macromolecules with molecular weights greater tha 7,500 dalton. Starting volumes may vary from 2-10 mL, with final volume of 50uL.
Application
- Clinical laboratory: concentration of samples for electrophoresis or immunoelectrophoresis on physiological fluids (for example: urine, serum, cerbrao-spinal fluid, amniotic fluid, saliva).
- Resarch applications: concentration of enzymes, immunoglobulins and various proteins and viruses in chromatography eluates or other aqueous solutions.
Features and Benefits
- Easy to use - can leave device unattended with no risk of sample running dry.
- Multi-sample use - each unit can be used independently, and after use can be autoclaved and disposed.
- Up to 200X concentration - for 2-10ML sample volume, down to 0.05mL.
- High protein recovery - higher than 75% for BSA at 250 mg/L.
- Low molecular weight cut-off - nominal molecular wight limit of 7,500 dalton, makes Urifil suitable for broad range of macromolecule concentration.
