General description
Carboxylated poly-vinyl chloride (PVC-COOH), is generally used in order to immobilize the potassium ion-selective and pH membrane electrodes. Carboxylated PVC-COOH membrane′s adhesive properties to an inert substrate such as polyimide-coated Kapton, can be greatly improved by reducing the plasticizer content of the membrane.

Application
Carboxylated PVC-COOH may be used as a polymeric matrix, for the immobilisation of the dopamine sensitive electrode, in an experimental study, done for the determination of dopamine by direct potentiometry in pharmaceutical preparations.
