General description
Petroleum ether is a low boiling point fraction having a boiling point in the range of 30-50°C. Extracts of leaves of Litchi chinensis Gaertn. (Sapindaceae) have been prepared in petroleum ether and were evaluated for antiinflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activities.
Application
Petroleum ether may be used in the absorption chromatographic purification of organic compounds.
