General description

Limonin is a limonoid glycoside with cancer chemo-preventive activity.

Application

Limonin may be used as a reference standard in the determination of limonin in orange juice concentrates using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).

Biochem/physiol Actions

柠檬苦素是一种三萜类糖苷配基,是柑橘类水果的苦味成分。它对几种癌细胞系具有抗增殖、凋亡的活性,并抑制由乙氧基甲烷诱导的大鼠结肠癌。它还可以通过抑制HIV-1蛋白酶的活性来抑制培养的单核细胞、巨噬细胞和单核细胞中的HIV-1复制。
