General description
2-Methylbutyryl-L-carnitine belongs to the acyl-L-carnitine class of compounds, which are the acetylated forms of L-carnitine, derived from the breakdown of amino and fatty acids.
Application
2-Methylbutyryl-L-carnitine may also be used as an analytical reference standard for the separation and identification of underivatized 2-methylbutyryl-L-carnitine in human plasma samples using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS).
