Gasoline in Soil - AK - PT

This proficiency testing sample is produced in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043:2010. All information regarding the use of this material can be found in the reporting packet supplied for each sample.

The PT sample size provided is 25 g of soil. The soil has been preserved with 25 mL of methanol. The PT sample has been sized to 100 mesh. The evaluation of results will be based on limits set by ADEC. The sample has been intentionally prepared with an apparent headspace. The sample was fortified with a blended gasoline from three different refineries located in the Mountain West to be extracted and analyzed using method AK101. This sample can also be analyzed by other methods including but not limited to EPA 8015M, NWTPH Gx, and IOWA OA-1. The carbon chain of interest is C6 to C10.

Sample Preparation
The 25 g soil PT sample is preserved in 25 mL methanol.
Report results on a wet weight basis.
All analytes are reported in mg/Kg.

Proficiency testing samples are presented as single blind. No values for the samples are released until the testing period concludes. Values of analytes vary lot to lot.
