We do not test for impurities of the Tween 20.
Can solutions of Product 63158, TWEEN® 20, be autoclaved?
Increased temperatures can lead to autoxidation of Tween 20. Autoclaving is not recommended without testing for changes in the properties. Tween 20 may not be stable to autoclaving, particularly with metal cations in buffer solutions. Autoclaving is done at the customer's discretion.
What is the purity of Product 63158, TWEEN® 20?
Tween 20 is polyethoxysorbitan laurate. It is not assayed for % purity. In our specifications, we do have a hydroxyl value of 96-108. This means that we analyze the OH groups at the end of the chain. With this result, the amount of polyethoxysorbitan laurate can be calculated.
What are the impurities that may be present in Product 63158, TWEEN® 20?
We do not test for impurities of the Tween 20. However, the supplier states that there is: <3% water, <10 ppb heavy metals (as lead), and <1ppm arsenic.
What is the percentage of Tween 20 in Product 63158?
This product is not dissolved in a solvent and therefore can be considered as "100%" Tween 20.
