INTS3 and NABP interacting protein (INIP) takes part in the ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) pathway. It interacts with other proteins to activate ATM. During genotoxic stress, it recruits RAD51 (a recombinase) to the area of DNA damage. Studies have shown that cells having no expression of INIP are extremely sensitive to DNA damage.
