General description
Mitochondrial import receptor subunit TOM20 homolog (UniProt: Q15388; also known as Mitochondrial 20 kDa outer membrane protein, Outer mitochondrial membrane receptor Tom20) is encoded by the TOMM20 (also known as KIAA0016) gene (Gene ID: 9804) in human. TOM20 is a single-pass mitochondrial outer protein that is a component of the receptor complex responsible for the recognition and translocation of nuclear-encoded and cytosolically synthesized mitochondrial preproteins. Together with TOM22 it functions as the transit peptide receptor at the surface of the mitochondrion outer membrane and facilitates the movement of preproteins into the TOM40 translocation pore. Overexpression of TOM20 has been reported tin various cancers and its expression is correlated with increased mitochondrial mass. Suppression of TOMM20 is shown to reduce proliferation, migration, and invasion in colorectal cancer cells and cause S-phase arrest and apoptosis. This ZooMAb recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals. Anti-TOMM20, clone 5H22 ZooMAb, Cat. No. ZRB1135, is a recombinant Rabbit monoclonal antibody that specifically targets TOMM20 and is tested for use in Affinity Binding Assay, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin), and Western Blotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Clone 5H22 is a ZooMAb rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects human TOMM20. It targets the cytoplasmic domain.
Physical form
Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.
Preparation Note
Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
Reconstitute lyophilized antibody pellet with 25μL of ultrapure water or Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS). Please refer to our reconstitution protocol and the specific application guidance on the suggested starting dilutions and sample type.
