General description
Acinus is a ubiquitous protein that induces apoptotic chromatin condensation in cells. This protein is cleaved by caspase-3 and an additional unknown protease that subsequently generates a small active peptide p17. This small peptide causes in vitro condensation of chromatin when it is added to purified nuclei. In humans and mice, there are three distinct splice variants, namely, AcinusL, AcinusS, and AcinusS′. Rabbit anti-acinus, C-terminal antibody binds to human acinus (approx. 220 kDa) by immunoblotting.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 1329-1341 of human AcinusL, 602-614 of human AcinusS′ and 571-583 of human AcinusS.
Application
Rabbit anti-acinus, C-terminal antibody can be used for western blot assays at a concentration of 0.25-0.5 μg/mL.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide
