General description
ADAM-17 or tumor necrosis factor converting enzyme (TACE) is known to regulate several cellular functions such as cell growth and movement. It has a varied array of substrates that include adhesion molecules, growth factors and their receptors, as well as many cytokines. Thus, ADAM-17 abnormalities have been associated with various disorders such as renal fibrosis, Alzheimer′s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, diabetes and cardiac disorders.
Rabbit anti-ADAM-17, cytoplasmic domain antibody recognizes human, porcine, and rat ADAM17. It does not react with other ADAMs. By immunoblotting against the reduced protein, the antibody recognizes a band of 110kDa from conditioned media or cell lysates.

Critical reviews in biochemistry and molecular biology, 45(2), 146-169 (2010-02-27)
This review focuses on the role of ADAM-17 in disease. Since its debut as the tumor necrosis factor converting enzyme (TACE), ADAM-17 has been reported to be an indispensible regulator of almost every cellular event from proliferation to migration. The
