Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties and may serve a role in prevention and treatment of autoimmune disorders and cancer. Omega-3 arachidonic acid is found in trace amounts in dietary sources. It inhibits arachidonoyl-coenzyme A synthetase in both calf brain and human platelet membranes.
