General description
TropoMyosin 1 (α) (TPM1, CMH3, TMSA, TPM1) is an α-helical polypeptide involved in the stabilization of actin filament components of the contractile system of striated and smooth muscles and the cytoskeleton of non-muscle cells. TPM1 in association with the troponin complex regulates calcium-dependent interaction of actin and myosin during muscle contraction. Defective TPM1 is associated with muscle diseases such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Immunogen
The immunogen for anti-TPM1 antibody: synthetic peptide derected towards the N terminal of human TPM1
Application
Anti-TPM1 polyclonal antibody is used to tag tropomyosin 1 (α) protein for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in plasma by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to determine the roles of tropomyosin 1 (α) in muscle contraction.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Anti-TPM1 polyclonal antibody reacts with zebrafish, human, mouse, rat, and canine tropomyosin 1-α proteins.
Physical form
Lyophilized from PBS buffer with 2% sucrose
