General description
Angiomotin-like protein 2, a member of the motins protein family, is a protein that binds angiostatin, a circulating inhibitor of the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis). Angiomotin mediates angiostatin inhibition of endothelial cell migration and tube formation in vitro. AMOTL2 regulates γAP1 cytoplasm-to-nucleus translocation through direct protein-protein interaction. γAP1 is a component of the Hippo pathway involved in controlling organ size via regulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis.

Application
Anti-Angiomotin-like protein 2 antibody is used to tag Angiomotin-like protein 2 proteins for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in cells and tissues by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to study the role of Angiomotin-like protein 2 in the regulation of gene expression, cell proliferation, apoptosis and angiogenesis.
