Zona pellucida glycoprotein 4 (ZP4; ZP1) is a glycoprotein that is present in zona pellucida, the extracellular matrix that surrounds oocyte and the early embryo. ZP glycoproteins mediate the binding of the sperm to zona pellucida and its penetration.
