生化/生理作用

Helt bHLH transcription factor (HELT) is a transcriptional repressor mainly expressed in undifferentiated neural progenitors in some developing brain regions. It is involved in neuronal differentiation and determination of neuronal identity. HELT acts as selector gene and determines the GABAergic or glutamatergic fate of the neurons.
