Gene Information
human ... BTK(695)
General description
BTK is a tyrosine-protein kinase that modulates signaling, growth, and differentiation in B-lymphocytes. BTK also mediates cytoskeletal rearrangements and associates with Pin1 to regulate the cell-cycle dependent expression of BTK. Additionally, BTK signaling cascades are involved in regulation of calcium fluxes and transcription. Genetic alterations in BTK1 have been linked to X-linked aγglobulinemia . Anti-BTK, N-Terminal antibody is specific for human BTK (75 kDa). In immunoblotting, staining of the BTK band is specifically inhibited by the immunizing peptide.
Immunogen
The immunogen sequence is conserved in mouse, rat and chicken.
synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 11-26 of human BTK, conjugated to KLH via a C-terminal added cysteine residue. This sequence differs from the human Tec tyrosine kinase by 2 amino acids.
Application
Anti-BTK, N-Terminal antibody is suitable for use in western blot (1-2 μg/mL using lysates of Ramos (Human Burkitt lymphoma) cell line) and microarray.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Bruton's tyrosine kinase (Btk) is a member of the Tec family of protein tyrosine kinases (PTK) characterized by an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain (PH) thought to directly interact with phosphoinositides. We report here that wild-type (wt) and also a gain-of-function

Bruton tyrosine kinase (Btk) is expressed in B-lymphocytes. Mutations in Btk cause X-linked agammaglobulinemia in humans. However, the mechanism of activation and signaling of this enzyme has not been fully investigated. We have here shown that the peptidylprolyl cis/trans isomerase

Bruton's agammaglobulinemia tyrosine kinase (Btk) is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase important in B-lymphocyte development, differentiation, and signaling. Btk is a member of the Tec family of kinases. Mutations in the Btk gene lead to X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA) in humans and
