General description
p130cas or CAS (Crk-associated substrate) is a 120-130kD docking protein consists of a repetitive stretch of tyrosine-containing motifs. It has a pivotal role in cell adhesion, cell migration, cytokine receptor engagement and growth factor stimulation. It also has a critical role in cell transformation. Anti-(p130cas) antibody can be used in western blotting (diluted 1:1000) using human ECV304 endothelial cell extracts and rat skeletal muscle myoblasts L8 cell line extract. Rabbit anti-(p130cas) antibody reacts specifically with p130cas of rat, mouse and human.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human (p130cas) (amino acids 642-659), coupled to KLH. This sequence is identical in mouse and rat (p130cas) and has no homology to Cas-related proteins Hef1/Cas-L and Efs/Sin.
Application
Anti-(p130cas) antibody can be used in immunoprecipitation and microarray.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

The docking protein p130Cas becomes phosphorylated upon cell adhesion to extracellular matrix proteins, and is thought to play an essential role in cell transformation. Cas transmits signals through interactions with the Src-homology 3 (SH3) and Src-homology 2 domains of FAK
