General description
CD30 Ligand (CD30L) is a type II membrane glycoprotein of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. It is expressed on the cell surface of activated T cells, B cells, and monocytes. CD30L is also present in other cells, including mature dendritic cells, macrophages and mast cells. CD30L is also reffered to as Tnfsf8 (Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 8).
Immunogen
purified recombinant mouse CD30 ligand (amino acids 68-239) extracellular domain, expressed in NSO cells.
Application
Anti-CD30 antibody produced in goat is suitable for indirect ELISA at a concentration of 0.5-1.0μg/mL and western blotting at a concentration of 0.1-0.2μg/mL.
Biochem/physiol Actions
CD30L (CD30 ligand) along with CD30 is involved in activation and proliferation of T and B cells. They are also involved in the regulation of initial artherosclerosis development. CD30L/CD30 is crucial for maintenance and activation of IL (Interleukin)-17A-producing γδ T cells. CD30L/CD30 causes down-regulation of IL-2, resulting in Th17 differentiation of CD4+ T cells. CD30L helps in memory phenotype CD4+ T cells-mediated protection against infection with Listeria monocytogenes. CD30L/CD30 signaling is critical for Th1 response against Mycobacterium bovis bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) infection. They are also linked to allergic rhinitis pathogenesis in mice. CD30L/CD30 signaling is involved in pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel diseases.
Physical form
Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline.

A CD30 ligand (CD30L, CD153) is a type II membrane-associated glycoprotein belonging to the TNF family. To illustrate the potential role of CD30L in CD4(+) Th1 cell responses, we investigated the fate of Ag-specific CD4(+) T cells in CD30L-deficient (CD30L(-/-))
