Biochem/physiol Actions
Amyloid β A4 precursor protein-binding family B member 1 is a protein encoded by the APBB1 gene in humans and is mapped on human metaphase chromosomes to band 11p15. Fe65 is a neuronal adaptor protein that is involved in brain development, Alzheimer disease amyloid precursor protein (APP) signaling and proteolytic processing of APP. It participates in various processes by recruiting various interacting partners to form functional complexes and acts as a novel regulator of neurite outgrowth. Fe65 significantly alters actin dynamics and mitochondrial function in neuronal cells.
The antibody does not detect endogenous levels of Fe65.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues 352-369 from mouse Fe65.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 1.0 mg/mL bovine serum albumin and 0.05% sodium azide.

FE65 is an adaptor protein that binds to the amyloid precursor protein (APP). As such, FE65 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease. In addition, evidence suggests that FE65 is involved in brain development. It is generally believed

The neuronal adaptor protein Fe65 is involved in brain development, Alzheimer disease amyloid precursor protein (APP) signaling, and proteolytic processing of APP. It contains three protein-protein interaction domains, one WW domain, and a unique tandem array of phosphotyrosine-binding (PTB) domains.
