Rev is a regulatory protein of human immunodeficiency virus type 1. It consists of a hydrophobic core, which is formed by binding to another REV molecule and arginine-rich motifs (ARMs).

Anti-Rev antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting at a working dilution of 1:500 and for cell staining at a working dilution of 1:200.

Rev is involved in the stabilization and transport of the viral mRNA. It is involved in the up-regulation of the gag- and env-producing mRNAs via cis-acting element in the env region of HIV-1, named rev responsive element. It increases the stability of the unspliced viral mRNA and promotes the transport of the viral mRNA having the rev-responsive element from the nucleus to the cytoplasm.

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.
