Recombinant adipose differentiation-related protein
Application
Anti-ADFP (ab1) antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Adipose differentiation-related protein is a protein encoded by the ADFP gene in humans. It plays a novel role in the regulation of macrophage autophagy during lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation. ADFP is the most abundant lipid droplet (LD)-associated protein found in non-adipose tissue and its expression correlates with intracellular lipid accumulation. Its polymorphism may affect its function and influence the development of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. It has been observed that prolonged endurance-type exercise training increases the expression of ADFP leading to increases in intramuscular triglyceride (IMTG) content in a type I muscle fiber-type specific manner in type 2 diabetes patients.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

A proper balance between lipid droplet synthesis, lipolysis, and oxidative metabolism would ensure low local intramyocellular fatty acid levels, thereby possibly protecting against lipotoxicity-associated insulin
