Gene Information
human ... ITGB1(3688)
Application
Anti-Integrin β1 antibody produced in chicken was used in western blot analysis of amoeba whole-cell lysates and membrane fractions for the detection of integrin-like proteins. It is also suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Integrin β-1 is a protein encoded by the ITGB1 gene in humans and regulates multiple epithelial cell functions by connecting cells with the extracellular matrix. It helps in enhancing epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) through FAK-AKT signaling pathway. The protein expression may have potential in identifying the stage of colorectal liver metastases and may act as a marker of prognosis in these patients.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Naegleria fowleri and Naegleria lovaniensis are closely related free-living amoebae found in the environment. N. fowleri causes primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM), a rapidly fatal disease of the central nervous system, while N. lovaniensis is non-pathogenic. N. fowleri infection occurs when
