General description

The antibody will neutralize the biological activity of recombinant human, but not mouse MIP-1β. It will not neutralize the biological activity of recombinant human or mouse MIP-1α.

Immunogen

recombinant human MIP-1β, expressed in Sf 21 insect cells.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Macrophage inflammatory protein-1β (CCL4) belongs to a family of MIP-1 chemotactic cytokines (CC). The members of MIP-1 family have the ability to self-associate and form aggregates of high molecular weight. The self- aggregation is a reversible process and occurs in T cells, B cells and macrophages in response to inflammatory factors and bacterial endotoxins. This response results in inflammation and platelet degranulation.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline.

Preparation Note

Purified using protein G.
