Stevia rebaudiana bertoni leaves may be used as a source of stevioside, an FDA approved nontoxic natural non-caloric sweetener. Sevioside, a diterpene glycoside, is use to research its biological properties such as its anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor activities.
