Biochem/physiol Actions
N-Salicyloyltryptamine (STP) is a central nervous system depressant that inhibits the transient outward and sustained K+ current in neuroendocrine cells. This decreases the ability of neuronal cells to generate action potential.1,3 STP is has immunomodulatory effects as it inhibits the activation of ERK 1/2 and NF-κB.4
