General description
Integrin subunit α 11 (ITGA11) is expressed in stromal fibroblasts. Together with the integrin subunit β, it forms a receptor for collagen.
Immunogen
Peptide with sequence PTEEDLSHAPQRNH, from the internal region (near C-terminus) of the protein sequence according to NP_795896.4
Biochem/physiol Actions
Integrin subunit α 11 (ITGA11) may have a role in the organization of interstitial collagen matrices. It has been shown to be upregulated in non-small-cell lung carcinoma. Mice, which are deficient in ITGA11, exhibit signs of dwarfism and malnutrition.
