General description
Solute-linked carrier 26 member 6 anion transporter (SLC26A6) belongs to the solute carrier 26 gene family. It codes for an integral membrane protein, that has 10 or 12 transmembrane helices and intracellular amino and carboxy termininal. SLC26A6 is highly expressed in kidney and pancreas. This gene is located on human chromosome 3p21.
