Gene Information

human ... CACYBP(27101)

General description

Monoclonal Anti-CACYBP (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the hybridoma CABP7 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a recombinant fusion protein. The protein is a human ortholog of mouse calcyclin (S100A6)-binding protein and an element of novel ubiquitin ligase complex.
The gene CACYBP (calcyclin binding protein) is mapped to human chromosome 1q25.1. It is widely expressed in human tissues.

Application

Anti-CACYBP antibody, Mouse monoclonal is suitable for immunoblotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

CACYBP (calcyclin binding protein) is a part of the ubiquitination machinery and is involved in the degradation of β-catenin. It can interact with S100, SIAH1 (seven in absentia homolog 1) and SKP1 (S-phase kinase-associated protein 1). CACYBP is involved in proliferation, differentiation, multidrug resistance and tumorigenicity. It can work as an oncogene and as a tumor suppressor. In glioma cells, CACYBP enhances the cellular proliferation.
Monoclonal Anti-CACYBP recognizes human, dog, bovine, and monkey CACYBP.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide

Preparation Note

Store at −20 °C. For continuous use, store at 2–8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze at –20 °C in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in “frost-free” freezers, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
