Gene Information

General description
Monoclonal Anti- SOX11 (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the hybridoma SOX11-2 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide. Sex determining region Y (SRY)-related high-mobility-group (HMG) box 11 (SOX11) protein is a member of the SOX family of transcription factors. It is expressed in human and mouse fetuses in the lungs, peripheral and central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract. The SOX11 gene is mapped to human chromosome location 2p25.2. SOXC proteins comprise a transactivation domain in the C-terminal region and a highly conserved HMG box DNA-binding domain in the N-terminal.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to an internal region of human SOX11, conjugated to KLH. The corresponding sequence is identical in monkey and pig and differs by 3 amino acids in mouse and rat.
Application
Monoclonal Anti-SOX11 antibody produced in mouse may be used in immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Monoclonal Anti- SOX11 recognizes human SOX11.
Sex determining region Y (SRY)-related high-mobility-group (HMG) box 11 (SOX11) protein plays a role in tumorigenesis. It regulates embryonic development of the central nervous system. It also plays a major role in the determination of cell fate. SOX11 modulates progenitor and stem cell behavior. Dysregulation of SOX11 is associated with neurodevelopmental disorders, osteoarthritis and a wide variety of cancers.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
Preparation Note
For continuous use, store at 2-8°C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze at -20oC in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing,or storage in “frost-free” freezers,is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
