General description
Matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) is also known as gelatinase-B and collagenase type IV-B. It is a proteinase. MMP9 is located on human chromosome 20q13.2.
Immunogen
Purified recombinant fragment of human MMP9 expressed in E.coli.
Mouse monoclonal antibody raised against MMP9
Mouse monoclonal antibody raised against MMP9
Biochem/physiol Actions
Matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) regulates inflammatory mediators. It plays a major role in the degradation of extracellular matrix (ECM) components, the formation of chemokine gradients, the generation of reactive oxygen species and the movement of effector cells. It stimulates the progression of autoimmune neo-epitopes. MMP-9 is present at high level in the saliva and tear fluid of patients with Sjoogren′s syndrome.
Physical form
Ascitic fluid containing 0.03% sodium azide.
