Antimicrobial and immunomodulatory peptide
Bac2A is an antimicrobial and immunomodulatory peptide. Bac2A is a linear variant of bactenecin. Recent studies show that Bac2A is very effective against fungal pathogens, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. vasinfectum and Fusarium graminearum. In these studies, Bac2A antifungal activity was not due to membrane destabilization but rather to interaction with intracellular targets.
