NSC156529 is a potent inhibitor of Akt/PKB pathway that decreases the proliferation of human cancer cells in vitro, and inhibits tumor growth in a prostate tumor xenograft model. NSC156529 inhibits interaction of PDPK1 and AKT1 by direct binding to PDPK1. NSC156529 increases the differentiation status of cancer cells.
