51164 is a neuron penetrant, potent and selective positive allosteric modulator of TRPC6 channels that activates neuronal store-operated calcium entry (nSOCE) in the hippocampal neurons spines. 51164 fully rescues mushroom spines in Aß42-treated neurons. It restores long-term potentiation (LTP) deficit in 6 months old hippocampal slices from 5xFAD mouse model.
