General description
TBP(TATA-box结合蛋白)最初被认为是II类起始因子TFIID的一部分。它的C端区域在系统发育上是保守的,由180个氨基酸组成,包含一个高度碱性的片段,即碱性重复序列,以及两侧直接的重复。该蛋白的N末端结构域在物种间并不保守,残基数量也不同。TBP基因位于人类6号染色体上。
