Biochem/physiol Actions
3,3′,5-Triiodo-L-Thyronine (T3) is the most biologically active form of thyroid hormone that is a key regulator of metabolism, heart, muscle and digestive functions, brain development and maintenance of bone density. The effects of T3 are mediated by its binding to thyroid hormone receptors expressed on human hepatocytes.
Preparation Note
Dilute with buffer: 0.01 M phosphate, pH 7.4, 0.15 M sodium chloride and 15 mM sodium azide.
