General description
BSTFA is a derivatizing agent widely used in the derivatization of estrogenic steroids, thereby resulting in the formation of trimethylsilyl (TMS) derivative. It is also known to react with the aromatic hydroxyl group.
Application
BSTFA was used for silylation of samples during GC-MS analysis of Glutathione conjugates of Prostaglandin A1.
Suitable for the derivatization of Υ-aminobutyric acid, n-acetylneuraminic acid, arginine, dipeptides, glycine, glycosphingolipi, n-hydroxylamines, lysine, nitrilotriacetate, phenols (sterically hindered), phospholipids, phosphoserine and phosphothreonine, prostaglandins F2α, prostaglandin H2 methyl ester, prostaglandins F2α, sulfur amino acids, terephthalate prepolymer mixture, thiohydantoins of amino acids, and thromboxane B2.
Other Notes
Reagent for N-acetyl, O-trimethylesilyl, trimethylsilyl, trimethylsilyl diglyceride, trimethylsilyl ether, sulfonyl trimethylsilyl esters and trimethylsilyl thiohydantoins.
