General description
TSKgel® VMpak-25 columns are specialty columns for the analysis of basic drugs that are often difficult to retain with good peak shape on alkyl-bonded reversed phase columns. The packing material in TSKgel VMpak-25 columns is a hydrophilic vinyl polymer gel (7 μm), similar to that in TSKgel Alpha-2500 size-exclusion columns, although the column dimensions are more appropriate for non-SEC applications. Depending on the mobile phase composition, compounds will be retained by a combination of reverse phase and cation exchange on residual carboxylic acid groups.
