General description
This certified reference material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034. This CRM is traceable to primary material from an NMI, e.g. NIST or NMIJ.
Certified content by quantitative NMR incl. uncertainty and expiry date are given on the certificate.

Triazophos― a non-systemic insecticide and acaricide, is an acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor. An organophosphate, it covalently and irreversibly reacts with the acetylcholine binding site and blocks the hydrolysis of acetylcholine, resulting in hyper excitation. Its route of action includes both ingestion and contact. Triazophos is used against soil insects and mites such as aphids, thrips, midges, beetles, Lepidoptera larvae, cutworms, and spider mites in ornamentals, cotton, rice, maize, soybeans, oil palms, olives, and coffee.
As per Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009, repealing directive 91/414/EEC, triazophos is not approved for use in the European Union as a plant protection agent. Maximum residue limits (MRLs) applied for the presence of triazophos in food products across different countries lie in the range of 0.01 to 0.2 mg/kg.
Triazophos has to be monitored in the Multiannual Control Programme for Pesticides Residues (MACP), run within the EU and EFTA in/on products of plant origin.

Application
The certified reference material (CRM) is intended to be used as a calibrant for chromatography and other analytical techniques.
Triazophos CRM may find the following uses:
Triazophos CRM may find the following uses:
- Analysis of a diagnostic method for the direct monitoring of triazophos by a non-competitive surface plasmon resonance immunosensor in environmental and agricultural product samples
- Simultaneous quantitative detection of 171 pesticide residues using multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) as a sorbent in the reversed-dispersive solid-phase (r-DSPE) extraction of the cowpea samples followed by gas chromatographic-tandem mass spectrometric (GC-MS/MS) analysis
- Development and validation of a multi-residue method for the analysis of 160 pesticides in herbal plants samples of chamomile, thyme, and marjoram using ethyl acetate and n-hexane mixture for the extraction before GC-MS/MS direct injection
- Determination of a wide group of 250 pesticide residues in surface water samples by solid-phase extraction (SPE) and reversed-phase liquid chromatography (LC)-Orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS)
- Quantifying 126 pesticide residues in chicken muscle samples using QuEChERS for sample preparation and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography- quadrupole time-of-flight-mass spectrometry (UHPLC-QToF-MS) for subsequent analysis
