Tetraconazole is a systemicbroad spectrum triazole fungicide, which can be used to control a large number of fungi like Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes, and Deuteromycetes especially Sphaerotheca fuliginea on cucumber and Erysiphe graminis on wheat. It can be prepared, via stereoselective lipase-catalyzed hydrolysis of the racemic precursor (R,S)-2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-3-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-l-y1)-prop-l-yl acetate.
