Ras-related protein RAB39A, a member RAS oncogene family is mainly localized on late endosomes and lysosomes. It is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 11q22.3.

应用

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. 生化/生理作用

Ras-related protein RAB39A plays a major role in regulation of endocytosis, acidification of maturing phagosomes, autophagosome formation and secretion of pro-inflammatory compounds. The encoded protein protein plays a pleiotropic role in phagosome maturation, inflammatory activation and neuritogenesis. In addition, Rab39a also facilitates membrane trafficking of phagocytosis and autophagy induction in macrophages. Rab39a might also act as a potential therapeutic target for sepsis syndrome.
