Application

Tyrphostin 47 has been used in LOPAC screening assays to identify human tissue transglutaminase (TGM2) inhibitors. Tyrphostin 47 has also been used to study its effects on hyperpolarization-activated cation current in porcine pacemaker cells.

Biochem/physiol Actions

EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor.
Tyrphostin 23 is a small molecule inhibitor of epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor kinase function. This molecule associates with the substrate subsite of the protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) domain,.

Preparation Note

Tyrphostin 47 is is soluble in DMSO (50 mg/ml) and yields a clear, orange solution. The product is also soluble in ethanol (40 mM).
