General description
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 (UniProt: P09651; also known as Nuclear ribonucleoprotein particle A1 protein) is encoded by the HNRNPA1 gene (Gene ID: 3178) in human. hnRNAP A1 is a member of the hnRNP family of conserved proteins that is involved in RNA transcription, pre-mRNA splicing, mRNA transport, protein translation, microRNA processing, telomere maintenance, and the regulation of transcription factor activity. It is ubiquitously expressed, however, due to post-translational modifications it can vary in its molecular function. It is mainly localized in cytoplasmic mRNP granules containing untranslated mRNAs and shuttles continuously between the nucleus and the cytoplasm along with mRNA. Its N-terminal region contains two RNA recognition motifs (aa 14-97 and 105-184) and the C-terminal region has the prion-like domain (PrLD) that mediates cellular compartmentalization, protein-protein interaction, and RNA-binding. The RRMs are composed of four β-sheets adjoined by two -helices (β1 1β2β3 2β4).The β-sheet surfaces primarily interact with RNA via amino acid stretches containing predominantly aromatic residues. hnRNP A1 is considered a key component of the response to cellular stresses and also binds to the IRES and thereby inhibits the translation of the apoptosis protease activating factor APAF1. Three isoforms of hnRNP A1 have been described that are produced by alternative splicing. Biochem/physiol Actions
Clone 9H10 is a ZooMAb® Mouse recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 (hnRNP A1).
Physical form
Purified recombinant mouse monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.
Preparation Note
Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
Reconstitute lyophilized antibody pellet with 25μL of ultrapure water or Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS). Please refer to our reconstitution protocol and the specific application guidance on the suggested starting dilutions and sample type.
