Clone 1D15 is a ZooMAb^® Rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Lactotransferrin. It targets an epitope within 16 amino acids from the internal region.

Quality Control Testing

Evaluated by Western Blotting in Human prostate tissue lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected Lactotransferrin in Human prostate tissue lysate.

Tested Applications

Immunofluorescence Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected Lactotransferrin in Human salivary gland tissue sections.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected Lactotransferrin in HepG2 cells.

Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound Lactotransferrin peptide with a KD of 9.6 x 10-8 in an affinity binding assay.

Lactotransferrin (UniProt: P02788; also known as Growth-inhibiting protein 12, Talalactoferrin, LF) is encoded by the LTF (also known as GIG12, LF) gene (Gene ID: 4057) in human. Lactotransferrin is an iron-binding, monomeric, glycoprotein found in exocrine fluids, including in breast milk and mucosal secretions. It plays an important role in the human innate immune system. Three different isoforms of lactotransferrin (LF) have been described: LF- is the iron-binding form and lacks ribonuclease activity; LF-β and LF- show ribonuclease activity but do not display iron-binding capacity. It inhibits bacterial growth by sequestering essential iron. It also exhibits non-iron-dependent antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antitumor, anti-inflammatory, and immunoregulatory activities. It also exhibits direct bactericidal properties leading to the release of lipopolysaccharides from the bacterial outer membrane. It is reported to stimulate the TLR4 signaling pathway leading to NF-kB activation and subsequent pro-inflammatory cytokine production while also interfering with the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated TLR4 signaling. LF also has anabolic, differentiating, and anti-apoptotic effects on osteoblasts and can inhibit osteoclastogenesis, possibly playing a role in the regulation of bone growth. It is reported to have anti-tumor and anti-metastatic activity in different cancers. LTF gene is significantly down-regulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and is negatively associated with the progression and metastasis of NPC. LF can suppress PDK1 expression via the MAP kinase/c-Jun pathway and repress AKT signaling. It can also interact with keratin 18 and block the formation of the K18 14-3-3 complex, leading to downregulation of K18-mediated AKT activation. Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
