General description

The NanoFabTx PLGA-micro kit provides reagents (PLGA and stabilizer) and a protocol for microfluidic synthesis of microparticles between 1 to 5 μm. This reagent kit can be combined with the NanoFabTx Microfluidic - micro device kit (Cat.No. 911860) for microfluidic synthesis of PLGA micro particles.

Application

NanoFabTx PLGA-micro for synthesis of 1-5 μm particle reagent kit is designed for the synthesis of hydrophobic drug- encapsulated poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) microparticles. The protocol gives users step-by-step instructions developed and tested by our formulation scientists. The protocol includes suggested conditions for incorporating drugs into the formulation and details how to tailor the parameters to yield 1 μm particles, 5 μm particles, or any size in between—all with low polydispersity. This kit affords scientists the synthetic control and reproducibility needed to encapsulate drugs, proteins, or other molecules with polymer microparticles of a chosen size and drug loading. With this kit, researchers can quickly identify the ideal microparticle size and drug loading for their research application. PLGA is a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer that has been widely used in drug delivery systems for controlled drug release of many different types of therapeutic molecules.

Features and Benefits

  • Flexible synthesis tool to create uniform and reproducible nanoparticles
  • Optimized to make microparticles 1-5 μm by microfluidics with low polydispersity
  • Enables microparticle formulation screening and optimization of microparticles 1-5 μm to select ideal particle size for enhanced drug loading and controlled release
  • Based on non-toxic, biodegradable polymers
