Application
These products are used to form water repellent surface coating and/or lubricated surfaces on silicon, silicon oxide, etc.
The fluorinated carbon gives the omniphobic properties to the surface. The coated surface is more water repellent when a product having more fluorinated carbons is used.
The silane group provide a linker to covalently bond to silicon and silicon oxide surfaces.
The methoxy groups are more reactive than the ethoxy ones, but they release methanol instead of ethanol for ethoxy groups.
